Sports Day

8th July 2019

Information About Sports Day
Dear St Nics Families,

Sports day is this coming Friday. Here is what you need to know:

Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 starting at about 9:15am.

Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 starting as soon after 10:30 as we can aiming for 10:40am.

The children will have either already been told which team they are in or will be told on Monday. St David's (Yellow), St Patrick's (Green), St Andrew's (But) and, of course, St George's (Red). The children can come to school wearing their sports day kit and are asked to wear something in the colour of their team if possible. If they don't have anything in the correct colour, don't worry. We have coloured training vests that we can lend them.

Reception, Year 1 & Year 2
The children go around in half class groups and do all of the events. There will be chairs next to each event which mark the areas where spectators and supporters watch. If you are supporting more than one child, you switch back and forth during the morning.

Years 3, 4, 5 & 6
All of the events happen on the track. There will be chairs and benches at the finish end of the track, set a little back from the edge. You can also watch from the upper playground but not from along the side of the track or beyond the finish line.

All Parents & Supporters
There isn't much shade where you will be watching from so make sure you have your own sun hat, sun cream and water bottle. You can refill your water bottle from the outside tap at the end of the field.

Heat & Shade For the Children (Change each year)
At the moment, the forecast is for a little more cloud and a breeze but still very warm. Please make sure your child has a sun hat and sun cream. They can bring their own water bottle from home or use their school water bottle.

At The End
We will need to clear the field quickly at the end of Sports Day and get the chairs to the main hall for lunch. There are always lots of you who help out and we'd be grateful for your assistance again. We are aiming for a 12 Midday finish - though we are usually 10 - 15 minutes late!

Mr R.
